KJV:
And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.
NKJV:
But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb's Book of Life.
NIV:
Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life.
Interpretation:
Nothing that defiles or works abomination will enter the new Jerusalem. Only those written in the Lamb's book of life will enter. The verse shows the purity of heaven. What God considers abominations cannot enter God's presence. The city is reserved for those who belong to Christ. Those who practice abominations are excluded from heaven. The verse teaches that heaven is holy and pure. Only those whose names are in the Lamb's book will enter. The verse reminds us that abominations keep people out of God's presence.
